Abstract
The article intends to focus on the reflection dedicated by the French Catholic press to the theme of Franco-German reconciliation during the early 1950s. As is known, the issue was destined to become one of the crucial themes of the pro-European debate in this phase and to summarize every other political and cultural reflection on the crisis of the old continent. Through a careful examination of the main French Catholic magazines, and primarily “Études”, we aim to outline a fresco that can offer some information not only on the various sensitivities present within the French Catholic world, but on the influence that the press French would have exerted on Italian ecclesiastical environments.
